Lauryn Hill played for a crowd of more than 40,000 at the Festival Dos Oceanos 2010 in Lisbon, Portugal, on Saturday (July 31). The free concert, which also featured a set from Estelle, was to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Portuguese Republic.
After a medley of Fugees classics including “Ready or Not†and “Fu-Gee-La,†the braided-hair songstress delivered her own hits “Doo Wop (That Thing),†“Turn Your Lights Down Low,†and closed with “Killing Me Softly.â€
Ms. Hill will return to the U.S. for the Rock the Bells Festival, which kicks off in Los Angeles on August 21. A previously unheard track called “Repercussions†leaked last month, causing some to wonder if the Grammy winner is about to stage a comeback.
